Hestia: describe your ideal house

houses are too much hassle, i’d much prefer a city center apartment, so that i could easily walk anywhere i needed to be, wander home at any time without dealing with sketchy taxis, step outside and feel the cobblestones under my feet in just a few minutes, etc. 20s and 30s apartment buildings are especially close to my heart.

high ceilings, bigger-than-usual but not exactly floorlength windows with windowsills to sit on. laquered wood floorboards. not too much furniture, in favour of letting the space breathe. [i’d probably keep the place nearly bare for a while to see what comes about organically] white, grey, gold with wooden details and an occasional black accent. a tiny balcony overlooking the inner court to smoke and drink coffee on in the mornings. a cat and a library. a loved one and a liquor cabinet. oh, and in this apartment, i absolutely own a typewriter and i put it to good use, too.
