10. Tell me about the sort of cover you cannot resist. 

Monochrome, or close to it, with no pictures and a classic font. Okay, maybe one abstract picture in dramatic lighting; or a painting, if we’re feeling decadent. I absolutely loathe covers with photographs of people.

15. What’s a cover that fooled you?

The cover of The Bell Jar that had a woman with a mirror on it and she was applying lipstick for some reason and I just. For quite some time I thought Sylvia Plath wrote chick lit.

Oh yeah and I distinctly remember one of my classmates pulling out a book  which looked exactly like a Scandinavian detective story: the dark woods furnished with ominous trees, exactly the kind of woods you expect to be murdered in. It was a collection of Keats’ poems.
